Youth Advocate Programs, Inc. (YAP)

Primary Focus

Promoting positive long-term employment outcomes through collaborations with educational entities, credentialing and training providers, and businesses and government employers, combined with direct services—guided by YAP’s evidenced-based wraparound advocacy model—that build skills, competencies and connections while addressing barriers.

Summary

To complement and reinforce workforce development goals, YAP staff members work with participants to address individual needs across multiple life domain areas and provide supportive services. By focusing on strengths, YAP’s wraparound model enables youth and families to develop their capabilities and pursue educational and employment activities based on their unique interests and goals. YAP also innovates through community-based recruitment of qualified service staff, cultural and linguistic competence, family engagement, a “No Reject – No Eject” policy, and 24/7 staff availability.
