Chief Local Elected Officials Consortium

While not members of the Board, the Southern Nevada Workforce Development Area’s Chief Local Elected Officials (LEOs) oversee primary Board activities such as the appointment of Board members, fiduciary responsibilities over local area resources, budget approvals and the coordination of inter-local government agreements.

Local Workforce Development Board

The Workforce Connections Board oversees activities under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) of 2014. The Board is composed of a diverse group of people actively engaged in the community with knowledge of the local labor market, and aligns resources towards effective workforce development in order to meet local area needs. Board members represent various areas of the community including:

Board members use their knowledge of the local labor market and the economic forces impacting Southern Nevada to define the scope of work performed by Workforce Connections’ One-Stop Delivery System. Working with economic development, chambers of commerce, K-12, post-secondary skill acquisition partners, and community service organizations, the Board seeks to build effective partnerships and leverage other resources in order to meet local workforce development needs.
