OPEN: Public Relations Summer Intern

Job Purpose:
Workforce Connections (WC) is seeking to hire a college level Junior or Senior student as a Public Relations’ (PR) summer intern to proactively assist in the development and execution of the digital/online platform of the organization to elevate the digital presence and increase virtual targeted community engagement. 

Reporting to the Deputy Director & Chief Strategy Officer and working closely with the PR vendor, this individual will assist in increasing the brand awareness and communication of the organization through effective public relations and social media strategies.
 

Requirements:
Students applying for this internship should preferably be Marketing, Business, Communications, or Advertising majors with deep understanding of how different social networks operate and have familiarity of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) for online content.  

Mastery of all relevant social media and messaging platforms including but not limited to Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube. Preferred familiarity with online marketing strategies. 

Must have excellent verbal communication skills; excellent writing, editing of photo/videos/text skills. Demonstration of creativity, out of the box thinking and resourcefulness to meet social media goals of WC.
 
Required familiarity with email marketing programs such as Mail Chimp. 
Minimum 2.5 Grade Point Average.
 
Full-time summer position; workdays are Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm.
